Historically, German nationals who wanted to become US Citizens had significant limitations on their ability to do so. Unless a German National was born with dual citizenship, they had to first seek permission from their government to become a citizen of another country. If they failed to do so, they would lose their German citizenship.

The process to seek permission from their government was time consuming and had to be accomplished within a relatively short timeline.  As of June 27, 2024, German Nationals are no longer required to seek permission to become a U.S. Citizen.

If you are a German National seeking to become a US Citizen, we can help! Call our office today and we will help you become a US Citizen.
